‘Gaudete’

No one got around to entering this carol in the carol contest: a medieval Christmas carol, Gaudete–whose lyrics tell us, in Latin, to rejoice, for Jesus Christ is born of Mary.

Performed by the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge, and the London Cello Orchestra.

  1. This is cool. I love old music resurrected. There’s a group who was featured in the movie, “0 Brother, Where Art Thou,” which sang a prisoners’ song near the start of the movie. They resurrect music sung by slaves. I’ve been meaning to do a little more research on them but, you know, that pest called busyness and his brother, the tyrant of urgency, just keep coming around and messing with me.
