Let’s see if we can get this blog started up today… Perhaps a little Beethoven: Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee, sung by the Mennonite Hour Singers.

Oh, good one. I find myself singing this one to myself occasionally. I’ll take a look and see what hymns I can come up with this morning.
Here is a suggestion: Take My Hand Precious Lord, by Marshall Hall (of the Gaither group)
This is one of my favorite hymns. So beautiful. Years ago, I think it was the movie “Sister Act” starring Whoopi Goldberg where her choir sang this song. Well, for me I hated the way they did it, they trashed and spoiled it…it seemed disrespectful to God and this beautiful hymn. I pulled the tape out of the player (shows my age), stomped on it and threw it away.
What else could you have expected from Whoopi Goldberg? I’d walk a mile out of my way to avoid any movie she was in.
This was a long time ago. At that time I had no idea what kind of human being she was. I now know what she is.
We’ve all been disappointed by famous people.
Such an uplifting hymn! The joy of the Lord is our strength.
