‘Pervocracy’ (2017)

This I wrote back in 2017. Now, four years later, we’ve got a “president” who goes around sniffing young girls. And really, it’s the only thing he’s good at.

Pervocracy

What would be so horrible about holding a lottery to decide who’d serve in Congress? I mean, come on, how scared are you of winding up with someone worse than Adam Schiff, Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi, Jerry Nadler? Could you even find worse people? Maybe if you had a fully-equipped scientific expedition to… sheesh, I don’t know where! You can’t beat our own 50 states for generating reprobates and elevating them to public office.

We really should try something else.

  1. The problem lies beyond congress. A friend and I were talking about current conditions, just yesterday and how radically things have changed. But the root cause is the decline of our civilization and the moral decay of the populace. The reason that reprobates could be elected is that voters are willing to tolerate such people in leadership positions.

When I was a child, sexual immorality was widely scorned and practitioners thereof did not wear their actions on their sleeves. In the name of “tolerance”, now actions that would have been considered immoral 60 years ago are not only tolerated, but are even praised by a significant portion of the population. It saddens me, but cleaning out the swamp turned into an exercise in futility.

  2. As Rushdoony like to say, “You can’t make a good omelets from rotten eggs.” If the people are good it really doesn’t matter what form of government a people chooses to live by. Alexis de Tocqueville said in the early 19th century that America was good because her people were good. He couldn’t believe they didn’t even have a law against pornography like France did because it was so prevalent among the French.

    1. You are an excellent point, WR. America was a very free and very open society, in great part because of the goodness of its people. They didn’t need laws against pornography, because they listened to their God given consciences. Pornography is based upon objectification, and a good an decent populace is not attracted to such a thing. For all of its shortcomings, and there certainly were some of those, the preponderance of this country’s history is with decency. Sadly, this has eroded drastically in the last 50 years or so.
