I’ve been covering this stuff for ten years plus, and it’s getting to me. It’s all beginning to sound like the mysterious gibberish spouted by the hapless TV reporter in the video above.
So bad, so fast. I saw a piece of nooze yesterday: whole high school classroom goes ballistic because one kid had one critical word to say about “Transgender.” Apparently TG has become sacred to a lot of people. Thanks to teachers’ unions.
Some of us fear there’s been too much damage, we’ll never repair it, never get our republic back–to say nothing of our sanity. Certainly if it’s up to us, we’re goners. I think we have to depend on God deciding, “This stops now.”
So I don’t want to write up any nooze this weekend. God pity us if we walk by sight; because what we see is dreadful.
I wonder if He is using this evil age to teach us something that we need to know.
I’d like to think that we’ll come through all this somehow — but I keep remembering the words of my old dissertation director: “You’re a Classicist; you know how quickly a civilization can collapse.” I just never thought it would happen in my lifetime. I suppose the people living through all the previous collapses had never thought so either.
No matter. We have a better world waiting for us after this one.
I was really hoping we wouldn’t end up like the Indus Valley Civilization–but Democrats have this train heading full-speed ahead to the broken trestle.
Our current fraudulent president speaks gibberish all the time. This week he proclaimed inflation is not from too much money in circulation.
This is different from the past. We have instant global communications, for one thing. I have no way of knowing what God is going to do, but this ticks a lot of the boxes for the signs of Christ’s return.

I think that is what God is doing, stopping the evil, tearing it down, what has been occurring, and greatly increasing in the last few years. It’s time for Christians to step up, and do what we have always been commanded to do, before, during, and when the dust has settled. Brother Lee, please do not stop! As the variant reading of Matthew 28:19 reads “make disciples, or Christians of all nations” not make just some individuals from each nation Christians, but as a little leaven, leavens the whole batch, our light should shine forth, and as we transform those around us, one day most of the nations will be Christian.
The kingdom of God I am speaking about, and what Jesus taught, has been demonstrated through the centuries by thousands of men and women, in all walks of life, who changed history and the course of nations. These exemplars include eminent Christians like William Carey, a missionary to India; and John Gibson Paton, missionary to the indigenous cannibals of the New Hebrides (Vanuatu) islands. Think about the Vikings. What happened to those warlike people? The nations they came from? Christianity got to them! The Kingdom of God, got a hold of them, missionaries preached the Kingdom just as Christ commanded, and whole nations became believers!
I need to remind you, what is occurring, what you may have heard from your pastor, some preacher on the radio, that we are living in the “end times” the “last days” before Jesus comes. Every preacher, teacher, or pastor who has taught those things for the last two hundred years has a poor track record. A 100% failure rate, when they taught they were living in the “last days/end times.” It’s no different now!
Let me remind you about those like Harold Camping, (after three of his predicted Rapture dates came and went) finally acknowledged his faulty projections and issued an apology to his followers. Or the infamous Edgar C. Whisenant’s book “88 Reasons Why the Rapture Will be in 1988”
Many other soothsayers have tried their hand at setting dates or end-time events: Tichonius (an early Christian writer), AD 381; Hippolytus and Lactantius, AD 500; Isaac Newton, 1715; William Whiston, 1734; William Miller (Adventist), October 22, 1844; Charles Taze Russell (Jehovah’s Witness), 1914; William Branham, 1977; Bill Maupin, June 1981; Mikkel Dahl, April 4-5, 1982; S. G. Norris, (Apostolic Bible College), 1986; Cha Dang-Ho, October 28, 1992; Chen Heng-Ming, 10 a.m. on March 31, 1998; and Marvin Byers, 2000; plus a host of others.
Over the years, many people have set dates for the second coming of the Lord and end-time events. Some date-setters have produced a large following; others, few, if any. Some are well known (Billy Graham); others obscure. However, all the soothsayers have one thing in common: They have ALL been wrong! (Or, rather, they have all been proven “false prophets.”)
We are not living in the Biblical last days nor the end times spoken about by Jesus and the New Testament authors, despite what you may have heard or believed. What is going on now will come to an end, what that is I know not, but some will survive, life will go on, the earth will not end, thus, Christians get to work, now, and use all the time you have left, for you will die one day, but your family, loved ones will live on, still be here long after you are gone.
We may not be on the brink of THE end; but AN end could come tomorrow, depending on God’s timetable.
I’m the oldest living member of my family. Who thinks he’s ever going to be that?
All I know to do is to put my head down and work. But this is one of those times in life when it’s not easy to do.
“I’m the oldest living member of my family.” I had to think about that, and you know what…so am I. That is really not a good list to be on.
It can’t be much fun to be the last of the pack, either. My Aunt Joan had 5 sisters and outlived them all.
I have only two relatives left, and one of them — my “baby cousin” who’s 75yo — told me that as the oldest living member of the family I’m now Head Of The Family. I wish I didn’t have that honor. 🙁
