Blood Work (What Will They Find?)

Enjoy this nice picture of a Podokesaurus.

All right, I’m back from having blood work done at a diagnostics lab. Results will be ready in two days: find out what kind of frightful diseases are lurking in my bloodstream, working for the Grim Reaper.

Nice people at the lab, though. (It’s the nice ones who get you. Your guard is down, y’see…)

Well, let’s get to work and see if we can generate some views today.

  1. The last time I had blood drawn, they said they needed two gallons.
    “Two gallons?” I asked.
“Don’t worry.” The nurse said. “We will spread it out. We will only take one gallon from each arm.”

  2. Look on the bright side: At least you had plenty of blood to give. 🙂

When I go in for my annual blood work (have to track my potassium), I always like to watch the blood flowing into the vials and express my delight at the fact that I have so much of it and so rich and red. That usually gets a smile from the technician.

    1. Having your blood drawn, is so much more pleasant than needing to have a catheter put in.

  3. No, I don’t think that is something you need to worry about, unless you are having the same problems I did, and am still dealing with. It’s a long and painful story.
