How close did he come to throwing the gavel at this joker?
Here is one of those things you’ve always wished you’d hear someday. Well, your wish has just been granted! In a Canadian courtroom, of all places (https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/giving-the-finger-is-a-god-given-right-says-a-judge-in-this-country-3848782).
In Montreal, two neighbors were feuding with each other. Borrowing a tip from Shakespeare (“Speak, hands, for me!” —Julius Caesar), one neighbor treated the other to an eloquent finger gesture. Let us use the euphemism “flipping the bird.”
The flipee dragged the flipper into court… and the judge was not amused.
After ruling that Canadians have “a God-given right” to flip each other the bird, the judge remarked, “[C]ases aren’t actually thrown out… [But] the Court is inclined to actually take the file and throw it out the window.”
And how many times have we wished to hear that!
I’m not promoting giving people the finger, but I would have to agree, it is protected as a part of free speech. If you disagree, feel free to flip me off; I promise I won’t take you to court. 🙂
But is flipping the bird in Justin Trudeau’s face legal? I don’t think so – dictators do not take kindly to that.
