Overwhelmed by God’s Love

Linda sent us this, “Animals Show Gratitude to Their Rescuers” (https://fellowshipoftheminds.com/2017/05/26/animals-show-gratitude-for-being-rescued/), last night, and I just can’t get it out of my mind. If you haven’t seen it yet, open the link.

You know, no one ever said “Zeus is love” or “Marduk is love” or “Quetzalcoatl is love.” Of all the uncounted multitude of gods worshiped by human beings over the millenia, it was never said of any god but our God, Our Father in Heaven, “God is love.”

Even birds and animals know this! Even living in a fallen world, they know it. The truth of this, when you actually try to absorb it, is overwhelming. God really is love! And He has infused it into His entire creation.

Whatever will it be like when He restores it to its original purity, free from sin and death? Will it only be people and animals leaping and crying out for joy–or will it be the very hills that dance, and the very stars that sing?

We are not yet equipped to imagine it. But someday we will be.

“Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not./ Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.”  –I John 3:1-2
