I had one of these when I was a boy: Grandma bought him for me. A nice, tame collared swift. Oh, the memories…
We’re both too sick to keep our current doctors’ appointments (today and Monday)–although Patty is much better than she was last night–so they have to be rescheduled. They want to push Monday’s appointment out to August (!), which would mean another six weeks (!!!) on this loopy “no fresh fruit or vegetables” diet. I don’t think I can stand any more of it. Who do I have to clobber with my cane to get some fresh raspberries?
This is all because they installed a very sick man into my room at what they laughingly call a rest home, and I got his illness and Patty got it from me. Gee thanks, fellas! What are they trying to do to me? I want some orange slices! Please!
Thank you for your prayers so far–and keep ’em coming, we are much in need of them.
I’d try to make that appointment, no matter what.
We’re both too sick to drive.
Can you call an Uber? Or a medical transportation company (not the squad)? There may be an agency for seniors in your city or county that provides (or assists in finding) transportation to medical appointments.
We’re both too sick to keep the appointment on Monday.
Besides, I’m terrified that the next time I set foot inside a doctor’s office, they’ll shanghai me for another 6 weeks in the hospital.
No fresh fruits and vegetables!! – are they intentionally trying to kill you? I would say heck no and eat all I want because God made them for us for our good health (not man-made chemicals).
I don’t know what they’re trying to do. And I don’t like it.
It’s related to the fact that you had intestinal surgery.
‘”no fresh fruit or vegetables” diet.” Say what? You’re kidding, right? What are you supposed to eat? Pills? Drugs? Capsules full of inorganic chemicals?
Real food is the only thing that can truly heal anyone! Drugs do not heal! At times they might help, but organic, whole food, is God’s medicine, He gave to the human race. Those are the true healing agents.
I have made a few suggestions, in the past, about things you should eat. But I have never said anything about the course of treatment you decided to take. I was very unhappy about all the surgeries you allowed the surgeons to perform upon you.
I was having a lot of pain, I thought it was having a heart attack. I went to the hospital, and found out it was Gall stones, I had a bunch. I took care of that problem in six days, no surgery, just a few natural foods and mineral drops did the trick.
You need to fire, immediately, whoever prescribed that diet! Find a doctor/doctors who deal with natural healing, real food, herbs, and such.
My prayers for you and Patty continue.
Is this Elder Mike?
My ignorance of medical matters is profound, and I think it would be a VERY bad idea of entrust any medical decisions to me.
My posts have not been posting. I am trying once again.

In this case a low residue or low fiber diet is essential. The newly operated on intestine can react to the fiber. It is a temporary measure, but necessary. You can end up with a blockage (which would be disastrous). There is a real medical reason. It is just a hardship for someone who is used to fresh fruit with every breakfast and lots of veggies with dinner. Pat
That’s what I was thinking. It’s for a good reason.
