Too Disgusting to Report

Sometimes I just can’t take it anymore.

I came across a news story this weekend that I really ought to comment on, here and elsewhere, as I bear witness to the murder of Western civilization. Maybe tomorrow I’ll have something to say about it. But for the time being, my stomach has been turned too violently and I’m grieving for my country.

In the last year or two, I’d say, I’ve found an increase in the number of news reports–that is, things that really happened–that I deem just too vile to write about. Week in, week out, I report the asinine, the outrageous, and the cruel things that people are doing to our way of life. Do you think this is fun? I’m here to tell you that it ain’t!

Anyhow, there are things that happen out there that I just plain can’t find words for.

God save us. Turn us, turn us, turn us, O Lord, turn us back to you, and cause thy face to shine: and we shall be saved.

  1. Once you regain your balance on this one,let us know. I think most of us will never feel surprise by anything anymore.

  2. This is exactly why I refuse to have the (bad)news in my home. Every now and then I’ll catch a snippet on the radio and it’s always tragic. How truly scary it must be for a child to grow up in a generation being force fed all things disturbing and detestable.

As if the problems at home aren’t enough, they hear about terrorists, whole apartment complexes burning down, the” war on terror”, the children and families that die in those fires, more and more terror, deadly car crashes, terrorists that kidnap hundreds of children, terror, fire, crashes, murdered heroes, babies shot in the face by their fathers, terrorists, kidnapping, school shooting, OD’d celebrities, mom torturing children, war on terror, terror, terror, terror, murder, murder, kill, kill, robbers, fire, terror, crash, burn, deadly, rape, death, child molester, abortion, kill, die, gun shots, fire, plane crash, suicide, mom drowning babies….

Not to mention the commercials for scary movies, usually depicting a child as the instrument of chaos; nothing is safe or sacred for our children anymore. The grocery store isn’t safe, the bank is dangerous, the post office, the church, the school (where they spend most all their waking hours), The layers are so deep and many. I fear the most callused/fearful generation is coming up. They are bombarded incessantly from all angles. Fight or flight. High stress, fear, anxiety at all time. what does this lead to?

Our kids are growing up in the hood even though they are in middle class suburbs or the country.

On Memorial day as we sat around our table teaching our children about the day, I was thankful to find out that my 4 kids (ages 1-8) didn’t have a clue who Osama Bin Laden was/is. We also turned off the TV a year ago. homeschool, and chose their friends. They are blissfully ignorant. These days that takes intention and specific action.

There is nothing new under the sun. Evil is as evil does. Watching and reading bad news/politics, is just feeding the wrong spirit. It’s good to keep the correct perspective: All Glory to God! This is our purpose: to fear God and keep his commandments.

I dont want to hear what turns your stomach violently because it will do the same to me. Being without the (bad)”news” for a year has allowed my calluses to soften and the wickedness of the world has more profound effect on me now.

For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

All we can do is pray that the Lord deliver us from our bodies of death, quickly! Get busy searching for some good, virtuous news! Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the mind and healing to the body.

Do not spurn the gifts and utterances of the prophets [do not depreciate prophetic revelations nor despise inspired instruction or exhortation or warning].But test and prove all things [until you can recognize] what is good; [to that] hold fast.1 Thessalonians 5:20-21

Keep fighting and prophesying, and dont leave grace and mercy by the wayside. (If not for the grace of holy God, we would be the subject of the nightly news. The world isn’t falling apart, its falling in place.
    I AM reigns!!!

    1. Khrystle, I track these stories so that you don’t have to, and I comment on them so that posterity will know that these wicked things were done without our consent and against our will.
