The good guys win: take that, teachers’ unions!
Republican legislators who voted against school choice got clobbered in Texas’ primary elections last week, opening the way for a school choice/vouchers bill to be passed (https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/06/after-texas-win-school-choice-groups-eye-other/). Fourteen of them lost their elections, one has quit… and that should be enough to carry the ball across the goal line.
The bill proposes to offer vouchers of $10,500 per student per year to families opting for private instead of public schools. A recent poll showed 88 percent of Texas families in favor of the school choice plan. And who wants to run against 88 percent of public opinion?
Well, Democrats do… but they won’t get far in Texas.
Oh boy! Some good news for a change.
A very positive development.
Texas is like Arkansas and other southern states who used to pure blue. The Dems run as Republicans or else they can’t win unless from minority districts. Michael Savage called them RINOs and the name has stuck.
