The Plan, So Far…

A picture of health (wish it was me!)

The doctors have agreed, and here’s the plan so far.

Friday: knock me out at the hospital and put some doohickey in me, somewhere, so they won’t have to poke a new hole every time they want to do chemotherapy.

Next: shoot chemotherapy chemicals into me to beat down Mr. Cancer. I don’t how how long they’ll keep doing that, or what the schedule will be.

Then: Radiation, plus chemo pills. The idea is to shrink the tumor.

And having done all that, it’s surgery.

Oh–but what about my hip? Don’t I need a hip replacement?

Yes, you do, but first they’ve gotta kill the cancer. Physical therapy won’t do you any good if the cancer kills you first.

Oh how I miss our cat! But the job now is to get me off the Grim Reaper’s to-do list.

  1. Here’s one of those comments where I hate to put a “like” on it. It hurts my heart that you or anyone else has to go through this—it’s not a joyride as I can secondhand attest to —but you can get through it and there can be a light at the end of the tunnel that’s NOT an oncoming train. 🙏🏻 still.

  2. I have experienced all this from the sideline with my second husband.and I know
it is not a choice anyone would have made, but God is able to do all things and
He really does answer prayer. We are with you.

  3. Mousekin – Well. . .you are in a tough spot. But, this is where faith and trust kick in. The Lord heals broken hearts and broken bodies. He will never leave you nor forsake you. We are all praying and, as Erlene says, God answers prayer.

  4. Read up on all these procedures so you can better prepare yourself for what is to come. It is a case of the chemo taking away your current life to give you a future life of being cancer free which is the goal. Try lifting up empty hands of faith and touching the hem of Jesus’ garment – that’s what my wife and I do every day as we confess the Word, by Jesus’ stripes we are healed and made whole.

  5. My heart aches for you and your wife, having to go through all this. John14:27: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
