Uplifting News, for a Change

Got him!

A dog fell down a 100-foot-deep abandoned mine shaft in Mohave County, Arizona–and was successfully rescued.

A man from the sheriff’s search and rescue team went down on a rope and came back up with the dog–who was, miraculously, unharmed. The owner should not have been farting around among abandoned mine shafts. Because of her, a man put his own safety on the line to rescue her dog.

We can’t possibly be as bad as we’re made out to be! There is hope for us yet. The Lord keeps giving us glimpses of it.

For which we give thanks.

  1. Lotsa old mines in Arizona, so it’s not all that surprising. There’s not much to do in many places, so people do explore old mines. I’m not recommending it, just explaining.

Good thing they rescued the pooch.

    1. You’d think that people would learn, but it seems that some folks just don’t think it can happen to them. It’s heartwarming to hear of a rescued pet, but it would have been better not to have happened at all.

  2. I think of the counselor at Camp Mystic who gave his life by saving as many children as he could from drowning before he drowned himself.
