That one’s a talker.
Animals don’t have the gift of speech, as do humans. They can recognize some words, simple commands, etc. and some animals can imitate human sounds, but an actual vocabulary, the ability to form words, and perhaps most critically, the ability to go from thoughts, to words, to “sending” those words to the organs of speech and then actually uttering them, that’s human stuff, only.
That having been said, animals can express a lot without actual words. I once had a very affectionate and sweet natured cat who would utter the softest sounds when she seemed to be expressing feelings of contentment and enjoying my company. The cat I have now gets quite vocal when I retrieve her treats from the refrigerator. Her tone is insistent, as if I might open her treats and then forget to actually give them to her.
No matter what, these lovely domestic animals are gifts from God.
One of the best gifts He has given us. Patty
I agree. They make life so much better, just by being themselves.
