Frigid Cold, Ben & Jerry’s Whining and a Pretty Good Day

When I got up this morning, very early, it was a frigid 12 degrees.  For the 9th of December, that is mighty cold.  I did have a feeling we were going to have an early and hard winter and that seems to be happening.

Ben and Jerry , the  anti Semitic anti America ice cream guys are having a tiff with their parent company.  One of the complaints they had was that they weren’t allowed to release an ice cream flavor that expressed “solidarity with Palestine”.

What?

Bad enough they did succeed in blocking sales of their products in Israeli held territories.  If you want to know more, it is online and covered by the BBC.

All that aside, it did turn out to be a pretty good day.

See you tomorrow.
God bless everybody

    1. I read an interesting article in… I think it was Psychology Today… that addressed the question of why so many Jews align themselves with the antisemitic political left. The psychologist that wrote had a theory and described it as a sort of generational PTSD. The Holocaust was so horrific, the trauma of it is passed on for generations. He theorized that, for many Jews, it was as if they felt that if they could just be a “good” Jew, the “right kind” of Jew, and side with those who hate them, vote the “right” way, etc., that maybe these antisemites won’t try to kill them, but will leave them alone.

Which, of course, will never happen.

    2. That makes a great deal of sense. There could be a bit of denial involved, as well, basically emotionally distancing themselves from what happened, back then. From what I am given to understand, the Jewish vote is shifting away from the Left.

    3. That is unsurprising. I’ve seen it with my own eyes, in a variety of situations.

It’s too bad. People should be confident in their worth, and not pigeonhole themselves by ethnicity, etc.
