  1. Beautiful creatures. They are indigenous to this area, but I’ve never seen one in the wild, nor ever spoken to anyone who has. As beautiful as they are, I don’t think that they tame well, and are much better off doing their thing in the wild.

    1. I agree. I am a fan of Puma Messi, a mountain lion who was raised in a home. He had early health issues, and would never have survived on his own, but leads a happy life as a 110 house cat, and it’s obvious that he adores his human family. But that’s the rare exception.

Ironically, I have “pet” mountain lions, anyhow. My neighborhood is thick with deer, and of late, the DEW-Line (Dog Early Warning Line) has been quite noisy, especially on certain nights, but also midday, last Monday. I was wondering what the ruckus was about, when my neighbor invited me over to see the mountain lion footprints in her yard. It’s almost impossible to see a mountain lion in the wild, but they are out there. I’m not really concerned as to safety; they tend to stay clear of humans.

    2. I would love to, myself. That have an amazing ability to blend into their surroundings, and I’ve heard of people out in the wilds catching sight of something moving, only then to realize that a mountain lion is watching them, from 20’ away. Generally speaking, they are not aggressive towards humans unless something is very wrong, such as illness or someone has gotten too close to their cubs.
