Kind of looked like it. There are some large bodies of water visible, possibly the Bosporous or the Sea of Mamara. Istanbul is fairly far north, about the same latitude as Denver, IIRC.

I’m a bit torn. As a crazy cat lady, myself, caring for a colony, I’m always happy to see strays being cared for. I’ve seen this in other Islamic areas. My problem is, while they will care for the cats, they will also beat, torture and kill dogs, stray or not. The two realities just don’t work together.
He’s very kind-hearted. Anyone who has ever fed a truly hungry cat knows the “cool cat” is not an accurate description. Cats are very excitable.
Those cats are pretty hungry. It’s a work of mercy for that man to feed them!

That’s why I was surprised to see this in Turkey. How could you not love a dog?
In Islam, dogs are considered unclean.
