After posting the story yesterday about the “dog hoarding” situation I have found more information. The woman who ran that place took great care of the dogs, but evidently was used as a distraction from the real problem–the dogs of skid row–in Los Angeles. Mayor Karen Bass has done an epic job of foot dragging when it comes to solving the problem of the horrendous abuse of dogs on Skid Row in Los Angeles. I can not repeat what I have read–it actually will make me sick.
This issue should be addressed–not by illegal raids on sanctuaries, but by real enforcement of existing laws.
Somebody is making a lot of money somewhere, you can bet your life on it.
The corruption in LA goes off the scale.
It is truly bad.
I feel uneasy, every time I visit there. Even in the best of neighborhoods, I always felt like I was in a high crime area. I recall driving through neighborhoods where I could never even dream of being able to afford living, yet the crime rate was over the top.
That is a problem in a lot of places.
It’s strange, but at some point, even familiar places change and no longer feel safe. I used to go anywhere I wanted in Denver, but these days it feels a lot less safe than it used to. I actually avoid Denver, these days.
There are places that I would absolutely not go to, even though I went there years ago.
For me, that includes most of Denver. It’s about as bad as SoCal, these days.
