Very sorry about the lack of posts today, but I was really busy.
Well, not exactly–here’s what I mean.
When I was a lot younger, if I had something to do on a given day, say a doctor appointment (like today), it would take me about 20 minutes to get ready. No big deal.
Today I spent most of the morning getting ready for my doctor appointment (which was at 1:40). I always arrive early, because they want you to. But that’s only 15 minutes early. Somehow the whole morning was spent getting ready for the cotton pickin’ appointment.
I even had lunch early.
Is it that when you get older, you are moving slower (but just don’t realize it)? Or does time itself kind of warp?
Do you really need that much more preparation for the simplest things?
Perhaps this is a question for the philosophers.
Somehow I don’t think they ever discussed it.
I’ll do better tomorrow.
God bless everybody.

I recognize the phenomenon. I think that with life experience, we tend to become more aware of all that can go wrong, and approach life more cautiously. I have an errand tomorrow, up in the city (Tucson). I’m not afraid of it, but I am in anticipation of it. Decades ago, I would drive into town for work, drive back home, than drive back to go see a movie, thinking nothing of two trips into the city. Now, that sounds like a real hassle.
It’s sort of amazing how things change.
For sure. I used to wonder why older relatives seemed so tentative about some things, but that is no longer the case.
