Today looked and felt more like Halloween than Memorial Day weekend. It rained all day, I know, I know–we need it but gee whiz–this has been going on for days now. And it’s freakin’ cold!
I watched an interesting video about (yet another) huge building in Manhattan that looks like it could fall to pieces. All kinds of flaws, shortcuts, insufficient and rather inept planning, etc. What do you want from an $89 million apartment? The older I get, the more I see the absolute wisdom of what the Bible says. “The love of money is the root of all evil.” It even gave us mad cow disease. Yep, we could make more money by feeding cattle (herbivores) ground up sheep (some of whom were suffering from scrapie (a neurological disease caused by prions). Prions are virtually indestructible, caused the mad cow epidemic in Britain, and the government denied it for the longest time–until they finally had to come clean. But look at the money we saved. Not.
Then I ran out to the convenience store–for 3 items, mind you, and forgot the paper towels.
It’s the weather.

This weather is freaky. It’s almost June, and were having weather I would expect in March. Plus, it poured off and on. We can always use the rain, here in the desert, but it is strange. It’s bound to improve where you are. OTOH, if we are spared the full heat of the average June, I’ll be fine with that.
