If this was a few years ago, Lee would have been there. He loved reptiles and amphibians and had many turtles when he was a kid. Our turtle Clemmy (a rescue from a polluted pond in Keyport) lived for over 18 years. He came down the shore with us (in his little tank) every year and gorged on fresh seafood. Where these turtles were found is about 10 miles from here.
That is very strange. You have to wonder what in the world was going on. How does someone come to have 150 turtles. Some years ago, I found a huge snapping turtle. It was very angry towards me. I put him in a nearby lake, and he swam about 20’ away, as fast as he could, then slowed down, looked back and gave me a look that would freeze water, before swimming even further away.
