There is something so sweet about infant animals, and this little skunk is no exception. He was pretty hostile toward everyone until he found a real friend. I know they must be released into the wild when the time comes, but I would find it hard to do.
Skunks are very opinionated creatures. They love to stomp their feet and let you know who’s in charge. I have been chased by a skunk, before. It stomped, then ran at me, and I ran faster. 🙂

Just one of the survival skills I learned working in the plains of eastern Colorado. One of the most challenging animal encounters I ever had was with a goose. I finally prevailed by bending my knees and holding my arms out, basically imitating its behavior.
