Totally Insane ‘Justice Reform’

“Bail? We don’t need no stinkin’ bail! Just the names of the witnesses.”

In addition to releasing accused criminals without bothering with bail, the state of New York has decided to provide criminals with the names of witnesses against them (https://conservativedailypost.com/ny-to-allow-suspects-to-investigate-crime-scene-and-get-names-of-witnesses/). They’re even going to allow criminals do do their own “investigations” of the crime scene.

The goal, they say, is to release 125,000 prisoners a year.

Are they purposely trying to foment a crime wave? What’s next–a list of the witnesses’ children, and where they go to school?

Oh! But this will only apply to “non-violent” criminals. The list of such “non-violent” offenses includes “second degree manslaughter, aggravated vehicular assault, promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child, possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, criminally negligent homicide, and aggravated vehicular homicide.”

Do those sound “non-violent” to you?

Honk if you think these are good ideas. It won’t be very safe to be a witness against a criminal, will it? I’ve heard that one witness has already been murdered.

Reporting this nooze distresses me. What can any of us do, to resist these insane policies?

I turn to the Bible for counsel.

“Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called: but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: that no flesh should glory in His presence.” (1 Corinthians 1: 25-29)

Our work here at this blog, yours and mine, seems foolish at times, and inconsequential; weak indeed, compared to what we’re up against; and certainly, in the eyes of the ungodly and the self-important, despised, and even base–

But we have to keep working, in spite of all discouragement–because the Lord our God makes use of us. He is all-righteous, God Almighty, and no weapon forged against Him shall prosper. We have to walk by faith, these days, and not by sight. And in our own small way, keep working.
