Lee & I had two pet hooded rats years ago.   They were very intelligent and quite shy  (not truly affectionate )  But we had not had them from infancy.

The following video shows NYC rats wrestling over a bagel.  How can they stand the noise?

Our rats would fight with each other as soon as the lights went out.
