Court Socks It to Climate Guru

(Thanks to Susan for the news tip)

If anyone can be said to rival Al Gore as high priest of the climate cult, that would be Michael Mann of Penn State, inventor of the holy hockey stick graph and infamous for his advice to colleagues to “hide the decline” in global temperatures. He also likes to sue people who don’t believe him.

So he sued Dr. Tim Ball, who has been openly skeptical of Mann’s claims, and now a Canadian court has dismissed the suit and ordered Mann to pay all of the defendant’s costs (https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2019/08/michael_mann_creator_of_the_infamous_global_warming_hockey_stick_loses_lawsuit_against_climate_skeptic_ordered_to_pay_defendants_costs.html?fbclid=IwAR0EKvq6Aw98U5ge4u6FsyDUYz6OpbuSahsjxDwS7IZq3HEmhGGKLvYPQqQ#ixzz61CghAMSX).

[Sorry about that unconscionably long link! I don’t know why that happens.]

Why did the judge dismiss the suit?

Because Mann, as is his custom, refused to let the court see his data! What? Dude, are we just supposed to take your word for it? And, like, turn out whole national economies inside-out and upside-down just on your say-so? And order this guy Ball to fork over several million dollars just because you demand it?

If they gave a Nobel Prize for arrogance, this clown Mann would win it.

Now, if Dr. Ball is in the mood, he can sue Mann back for punitive damages and maybe even hit him with a criminal prosecution. Shouldn’t’ve opened that can of worms, Mikey.

Meanwhile, Mann is also suing conservative commentator Mark Steyn. That suit has been going on for years now and might wind up in the U.S. Supreme Court.

This precedent from the Canadian court is not going to help Mann in any American court. If he had the sense God gave an onion, he’d fold and drop out now.

But he has asked for it, and now he’s getting it.
