Election Day

I don’t know what I can say that I haven’t said already, but I am moved to try. Maybe someone’s listening. So here goes.

Anything but a vote for Romney is tantamount to a vote for Obama.

Remember whose party it was that booed the name of God at their national convention.

Remember whose party it is, in the words of Rev. John McArthur, whose platform consists of the sins described in Romans Chapter 1.

Remember the Bible’s teaching: “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you… Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” (James 4:8, 10)

You cannot draw nigh to God by turning to the Democrat Party. No man can serve two masters.

Friends don’t let friends vote for Obama.

  1. I couldn’t have said it better. May we continue to pray that America wake up and the God of Glory be once more honored throughout our land. I have the hope that is happening becuse, without a doubt, the most quoted Scripture today is on the tip of my tongue’ Here is a way to say it poetically:

II Chronicles 7:14 (As spoken by the Creator of the universe)

If my people who are called by my name,
Will bend the knee and bow,
Will take a hard look at what they do,
And where, and when, and how,

If they’ll measure their lives by my holiness,
By my standards and my desires,
If they’ll put to death the old man,
And quench that old man’ss fires,

If they’ll model their lives by my holy Word,
And not by the world’s standards of good:
    “It looks so smart, so stylish, so sweet;
“It can’t hurt you; don’t be a prude!”

If you’ll listen to me and the promise I made,
My image reflect when you kneel,
My promise I’ll keep, your sins forgive,
And the land I love, I’ll heal.
    (der1983)

    1. It’s better than that, Dorothy. Our Father knows we can’t heal ourselves, He knows we don’t have it in us to be righteous. So He made his own Son to be our righteousness: “But of God is Christ made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.” (I Cor. chapt. 1)
No way a righteous nation selects for its leaders men like Obama, Bob Menendez, et al.

  2. Right on with your comments. We can see where this thing is headed, and it is not for the better. Matthew 24 gives us a lot of insight into what we can expect shortly. Ezekiel 38-39 do not sound good, either, so hold on to your Scriptures and the Hand of our God.

    1. This is not the first time people thought Christ’s return was imminent. All we know is that God knows the date and we don’t. And so, “What I say unto you, I say unto all–watch!”

  3. Lee, the game is rigged between Democrats and Republicans, where no matter which side you take you, participate in the destruction of America. There is no difference between Republican and Democrat sheep. The Nazis used the churches to convince citizens that serving the Nazi community was serving God. They believed they were serving God when in reality they were serving their Nazi government. On the other hand the communists destroy the morality of society and then promise to use community government to fix it. Of course how do you fix a morally corrupt community with a government consisting of the same morally corrupt citizens? Augustus Comte, who coined the terms sociology and altruism, said that love of humanity will replace love of God (altruism is communist morality, promoted by liberal and conservative leadership in America). He also said it was ridiculous that people believed they had God given individual rights. Instead, it was the citizen’s duty to selflessly sacrifice for their community. Both Nazism and communism require self-sacrifice to the community, as do liberal and conservative leadership in America. Remember what my Sheriff said about how we have no rights that protect us from our community.

    1. Kevin, what your sheriff said about communitarianism would be totally unacceptable to any ordinary Republican. Once upon a time it would have been anathema to any ordinary Democrat, too. I have been a Republican for most of my adult life, including periods when I was quite active in the party. The claim that Republicans and Democrats are “the same” is, quite simply, wrong.

  4. Kevin: you are both right! First, the rank and file are not happy with the “upper echelons”. Secondly, from the former son-in law of Franklin DR, in a book he wrote about his “exploited father-in-law” we read: “both parties are RUN by the same people.” That was a long time ago! Still true.

Most of us today only work with our local elephants because we hope to do some good in our local communities with the hope that it will work up into the “higher level.” It does’t seem to be working, does it? We hear folks say that the two parties are the same, except the one is taking us over the cliff faster than the other.Guess which “other.” Does anyone have a solution?

I think it would help if we’d dump the government run “educational” system. I’m a firm believer in letting a dead horse lie.

Having said all this, the very best solution is the building of Christ’s kingdom. Now that one will stand!
