Don’t you just hate to see those old college traditions go by the boards? Pan to shot of ivied walls, with “Gaudeamus Igitur” playing in the background.
After faithfully performing it on every Valentine’s Day for 20 years, Mt. Holyoke College in Springfield, Massachusetts, has canceled its annual performance of The Vagina Monologues. Now ain’t that too bad? But they had to do it, you see: because they were haunted, tormented by the burning question, “What about women who don’t have vaginas? Oh! This show isn’t inclusive enough to include them!” ( http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/01/16/vagina-monologues-mount-holyoke_n_6487302.html )
Women without vaginas? Are they talking about the victims of horrible freak accidents?
Uh, no–they’re talking about men. The reason these persons don’t have vaginas is that they’re not women, but men. Men who have been surgically mutilated and shot full of hormones so they can say they’re women and pea-brained academic types will act like they believe them.
Well, losing The Vagina Monologues is no great loss. It isn’t even a little tiny loss. But Mt. Holyoke is an old, upscale, all-women’s college, I can’t begin to guess what poor, unsuspecting parents pay to send their daughters there, and you have to wonder about what kind of “higher education” they’re getting for their money.
It is too bad that anyone’s soul should be so lost, so addled, that he or she should wish to be carved into a surgically-created monstrosity. And it’s more than too bad that the intellectual elite of the Western world is absolutely head-over-heels gaga over the whole notion of “transgender.”
But it is explained very simply in the Bible, and in a very few words: “But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death” (Proverbs 8:36)
