Cats & Hammocks

Living in a world dominated by humans–well, we think we dominate it: don’t we?–cats and dogs face challenges they’d never encounter in a state of nature. Like hammocks.

The day I see a cat in a hammock with a can of beer, and a ballgame on the radio, is the day I know they’ve licked us.

Cats and hammocks were made for one another. Both could rightly be referred to as “the ultimate lounging machine”.

When I was a child, my parents had a free standing hammock that we used for outdoor laying about during the warm seasons. It attached to its frame at the corners, so it was quite stable, in comparison to the traditional hammock. Maybe I’ll get something similar.
