Bonus: ‘Long, Long Ago’

This song wouldn’t leave me this morning, so I thought I might as well post it–Long, Long Ago. This version is by Jo Stafford and Gordon MacRae–from back when, I don’t know. And it took me quite a while to find it. Everybody else on Youtube wanted to jazz it up. Yech.

I’m supposed to write Newswithviews today or tomorrow. I have no ideas for it. Not one.

Please everybody, pray for my wife, she isn’t getting any better and that kind of weighs on me. I’m not exactly a tower of strength, these days.

There’s a lot of long ago that I want back.

  1. I so understand, Lee. When our beloved spouse is under the weather, it puts us under also. I will be in prayer for her… and for you.
As bad as things are in our society, the Bible prophecies offer us hope to hang on to.

  2. Such beautiful music. This generation does not know what they have missed and are missing from the days when music was real music.
I had not heard or thought of these two singers in ages, but they are still very enjoyable, and I listened to them a lot back in the day.

    1. Music **should** be beautiful–but some of the stuff they hit us with now is no better than the racket made by a couple of leaf blowers.

    2. Sometimes I’d almost prefer the leaf blowers. At least they don’t bellow obscenities like the rap “music” I hear from passing cars.

Lee, I continue to pray for you and your wife, and for all your family, friends, and readers. It’s often harder to stand at the foot of the Cross than to hang on it ourselves.

  3. Prayers for the Duigan family.

For Memorial Day, after visiting the National Cemetery, we watched “Friendly Persuasion.” Pat Boone sings the pretty theme song.
