Dogs know where the bodies are buried–because they buried ’em. Well, okay, not whole bodies. Just bones. They have a powerful urge to bury their bones so that some other dog doesn’t steal them. For indoor dogs, that means burying the bones in beds or sofas. It also means that sooner or later a hapless human is going to lie down right on top of a bone.

AND YOU THOUGHT CATS…WERE WEIRD????? 😀
Boy! I don’t know why anyone would allow a dog to carry a bone around the house, and certainly not on the bed. Pretty careless if you ask me.
I think they were artificial bones.
Sounds like you are speaking from personal experience 🙂 Squirrels remember where they have buried their nuts, even remembering which kind of nuts they were. Love those squirrels!!
We’ve got plenty of ’em.
