Why Do Cats Have 9 Lives?

Why do cats have nine lives? Because they need ’em! I mean, look at some of the situations they get themselves into, just in this little 6-minute video.

By the way, we have a clip here of a cat who’s actually on a tin roof. It doesn’t appear to be hot tin.

  1. Considering some of the situations cats get themselves into, it’s a wonder that any of them survive to maturity. My cat routinely jumps up on top of 8′ cabinets like it was nothing at all.

    1. When Peep was just a kitten, she somehow got on top of the refrigerator–did she fly? I’ll never know–where she climbed up and crawled into the bag that held my ice cream making machine. The first we knew of it was a terrible loud crash from the kitchen. By some miracle she escaped completely unharmed. Broke my machine, though.

    2. As you well know, it is my contention that cats can fly, but that they are very skilled in concealing this fact. As an airman, I’d love to know their secret, but they have successfully concealed this since at least the times of Egypt’s greatest grandeur and I don’t expect to break the code. 🙂
