These three could be in a broadcast booth, commenting on the game. A think a cat’s insights would be very illuminating.
Robbie used to do this by the hour. Birds, butterflies, squirrels–they all got chattered at. I wonder how she would’ve reacted to the baby bunny I saw here yesterday.
In spite of all the cats I have had, I never saw one do this trick. Amusing.
They didn’t chatter at birds?
One of my friends in Fort Worth had a cat who did this.
That is hilarious. I’ve had cats do the same thing. Cats are not cool, but are actually very emotional little creatures. They want to chase those birds, and their frustration is palpable.
Due to some unique circumstances, it’s not unusual for there to be deer in my yard, just outside the window. My cat finds that at least as exciting as birds. She gets quite agitated and runs from window to window. On more than one occasion, she has spooked the deer. It’s high comedy.
The occasional deer and Robbie haven’t intersected yet. I’d love to see what happens when they do.
It’s funny as heck, and simply a matter of scale. A house cat is basically a smaller version of a mountain lion, so the cat thinks of the deer as prey and the deer think of the cat as a predator. Of course, if the cat got outside they would see that the deer were bigger than them and probably run, but it’s lots of feline fun so long as there’s a window in between. 🙂
Love this one. The cats are talking about the birds they see.
