One or two of these vignettes was surely set up by humans; but you can’t deny that dogs want to help. If Eric the Red had had a more helpful dog, he wouldn’t have wound up in Greenland

  1. One thing I’ve noticed with dogs, is that they seem very perceptive, when it comes to gauging situations. It’s as if they can sense the mood, and sense the way that humans are acting, in almost any situation. Obviously, this is created within them. Cat sense it too, but they are less involved in the actions of their pet humans.

  3. We had a beautiful, sweet Golden Retriever named Penny who loved to help bring the groceries into the house. She definitely wanted to fulfill her role as a “working dog” by giving us a hand.
