“Celebrities” just gross me out anymore. Here’s a nice fence lizard instead.
Miley Cyrus went into a spasm of denial when this story came out.
It doesn’t seem to matter whether the story’s true or not. Who in his right mind would deny the satanic flavoring of our–ahem!–“entertainment” industry? And its overpaid pawns without an ounce of brain to share among them.
Gee, Lee–don’t go looking for “wholesome” in all the wrong places.
It’s human nature, wired in, to crave some kind of entertainment. But let’s make better choices, shall we?
“ If the word ‘satanic’ never comes into your mind when you’re looking at certain aspects of our popular culture, then you’re not looking.”
This says it all, at least in my opinion. What I’ve observed with entertainment, especially music, is that edgy sells. Sexual innuendo is everywhere in music, and the performances seem to include sexually provocative dance steps. I know little about Miley Cyrus, but the photo in the original 2018 post certainly suggests that hers is not that far from being a striptease act.
So, if in no other sense, much of the entertainment industry, in our era, certainly does not shy away from sexualizing virtually everything. Even children’s programming contains references to sex, which would have been unthinkable decades ago. While sex is a gift from our Maker, and not in itself shameful, it has been misused egregiously, and in the last 50-60 years, many people feel that any restriction on sex is somehow inappropriate. Even protections in place for minors are being challenged, in some quarters. One simple question which comes to mind; does this libertine behavior serves to honor our Creator, or serves Satanic purposes.
Sadly, the entertainment world seems to be getting even worse. Occasionally, I have viewed videos of recent Grand Ole Oprey performances and the mood of these performances has little in common with the relatively straightforward stage presence that many Country acts had in the past.
Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin…
I wonder what will happen when the public tires of the nonsense that passes for entertainment, these days. A few years ago, I was in a restaurant and the music playing on the PA was contemporary R&B. It was truly awful; just a series of musical clichés, and every song was obviously based on the same tired formula. It was truly cringeworthy, but to a generation who had never heard anything except formulaic, easily forgettable, garbage. When the video era started, in the early ‘80s, the emphasis shifted towards visual presentation and away from truly creative songwriting.
I was fortunate to have been raised in a home where my parents appreciated good music. The local radio station they listened to featured a lot of variety and my father’s record collection had classical, big band, Dixieland, up to, and including, Ventures electric guitar instrumentals. I remember hearing Ragtime and some truly inspired tenor banjo playing. Then there were the Chet Atkins records, which have been the inspiration for many guitarists, back then, and up to our day.
At the same time, we had an excellent Music teacher in my grade school, so I was exposed to some interesting music and even to a bit of music theory, all the way back in grade school. Likewise, in Junior High, we were exposed to some Rogers and Hammerstein, and a bit of classical music. I heard the “beat of the week” Top 40, just like everyone else, but I wasn’t as easily impressed as I would have been had I not been exposed to such a variety of music, growing up.
I’ve played music, and even made money at it, at one time in my life, and I have learned and performed hundreds, if not thousands of different songs. Most songs are forgettable, and forgotten within a year or two after having gotten airplay. Such songs tend to be simple, easy to learn, easy to play but rarely memorable. I have nothing against come-and-go Pop music, but there’s much more to music than just songs such as these can possibly offer.
Then there’s the stuff they play at us on our supermarket’s PA system, which mostly consists of people screeching and yelling. Mongolian throat-singing come back, all is forgiven…
I’ve been in stores where Rap was playing which was utterly obscene. I can’t a business wanting to project that image, but they apparently did.
Many of today celebrities like Miley Cyrus, etc. like to think they are part of the Illuminati without even knowing what that is all about.
They are part of the Devil’s satire on the human race.
