Don’t let those un-inclusive words out!
It’s always disappointing when a church decides to be conformed to the fads and trends of a profoundly fallen world, and adopts foolishness as wisdom. That’s what the Methodist Church in Britain has done.
UK Methodists are not supposed to say “husband” or “wife” because, say they, those are “offensive” terms, they’re not “inclusive,” and make sure you consult your Inclusive Language Guide before you say anything, blah-blah-blah (https://www.christianpost.com/news/uk-based-methodist-church-advises-against-husband-and-wife.html).
The kindest adjective I can find for this is CONSTIPATED. I’m also thinking along the lines of “shameful,” “stupid,” and “inane.”
Whose favor are they courting here? And what price are they willing to pay to get it?
How sad. If the church (supposedly the people of God) do not lead the way to
righteousness, then there will be nobody to do it.
It wasn’t that long ago when no one was offended by the terms husband and wife. Any church that is offended is not a true church, period.
“Do you take this biped to be your lawful wedded something-or-other…?”
Lee, I’m disappointed in you. Biped? How about one legged people? 🙂
