It could be worse: Mr. Bean could be your surgeon.
Would you sacrifice some of the quality of your medical care, to make sure it was being provided by “minorities”?
JPS Health in Tarrant County, Texas, runs the county’s hospital system and openly favors “minorities” providing everything from medical equipment to cancer screening (https://freebeacon.com/policy/minority-contracting-comes-to-medicine/)–welcome, “minority contracting”!
JPS uses a 100-point scale to evaluate bids to provide hospitals with goods and services. In the scale they use, “diversity and inclusion” is worth 15 points. That puts it very high on JPS’ list of priorities.
Other than increasing overall costs and increasing the risk to patients, it’s a humdinger of an idea. It’s become common in several other industries and can be found in several other states. Somehow Tarrant County wound up in the news. But other hospital systems have done the same.
So never mind having the best equipment, the best procedures, or the best personnel. “Diversity” carves out a chunk from “best.”
Don’t get sick. Your hospital might want to use you to score Diversity points.
Wow, that’s all we need, a quicker way to lower the number of the population.
Truly frightening. I have heard that the same is happening in the Air Traffic Control system.
Yeah–they gave you points if you played sports in high school.
Yeah, Pete’s been busy pushing pocs for air traffic controllers because the field is too white.
Today’s hospitals are a health risk in themselves – avoid them at all costs. The number of people who are admitted to a hospital for one thing and then die of something else is high. This why they call it practicing medicine.
Yes, I agree, especially since I spent so much time in hospitals with both my first husband
and my second husband. If I hadn’t been there, they would have gone without the
treatments they needed, while nurses and techs were chatting and chuckliing around the
center desk. Then recently I was in hospital after my strokes and heart attack, and believe
me, I would do almost anything to avoid going back there.
You can substitute medical care with any other endeavor. And no, I would not want to make sure it was being provided by “minorities”? I want the best doing their jobs, no matter what color their skin!
I have also read that about Air Traffic Control. That is one place you really need someone qualified to do that job (and medical for sure!).
There are to many accidents right now, across the board in all fields, by people who know what they are doing. Do they really want unqualified people working jobs where people lives depend on others knowing how to do their jobs?
At some point, if our country and civilization are to survive, we must get rid of the people destroying them.
You don’t say?
