Hunters in the House

Cats can’t help it. They have to chase things. You should’ve seen our cat Henry camped out by the terrarium, just itching for a chance to chase our newly-hatched baby lizards.

Here are a couple of cats whom Henry would have envied.

  1. Yes, that is cats for you. They just have to do these things- they feel obligated, I think.
Here is a song suggestion for tomorrow if you need one: Hillsong doing What A Beautiful Name.

  2. It’s amazing how acute their senses are, to sense these insects, and then intercept them. They are just natural hunters, and have exceptionally focused instincts to make them effective hunters. So a fly is the perfect challenge, and they seem to enjoy eating them, too.

While I was watching this on my iPad, I had my cat out for her evening walk, and she always makes a point to go and check out the place where she caught a small Swift, a few weeks ago. The Swift got away, but she’s not about to give up on catching it. 🙂
