I’ve never had a gift for conversing with atheists. I’ve never had what I’d call a real conversation with any atheist. It always breaks down into name-calling.
They hate God but say He does not exist.
I admit it: that “your god” cliche really annoys me. As if we had created Him, rather than the other way around.
I never expect ordinary civility from atheists, and am astonished on those rare occasions when I encounter it.
The most I ever seem to get from them is a blank stare, or a small chuckle, but I pray
that the Lord will return the words in their memory if He can bless them at all. All we
can do is plant the seeds, making them grow is in His hands.
I find it interesting that atheists feel the need to convince the rest of us that there is no God. While I’m more than happy to share the Good News, if someone doesn’t want that, I’m glad to leave them to their beliefs, and I don’t call them names. I’ve noticed that prominent atheists, for example Sagan, have no problem in suggesting that believers are fools.
Yeh, well I bet Sagan is in great regret by now.
Yes, they are so pompous in their belief. At least those in antiquity made up gods to try and fill the void within them. Atheists are hollow men born to dishonor before the one true God, our Heavenly Father.
Self-worship is always so tedious.
Atheism is an attempt to understand the world in a way that is totally quantifiable and understandable to human minds, even if abstractly through the use of scientific symbols. I think what they are missing is that there are centuries of wisdom in the old stories that are not always apparent on a smaller time frame.
Can you think of anything “totally quantifiable”? I can’t! But the human mind is highly overrated.
