Cuddling With Your Animals

This brought sappy old me just about to tears. Well, God made us all, didn’t He? People and animals alike. And when He was done, He pronounced it very good. Who are we to disagree?

  1. It brought tears to my eye.

As a young man, I had big plans. Music always came easy to me, and I was sure I could make good money playing music. What I didn’t realize was that I hated playing music for a living. Hated it. I’ve made a living ever since, and while I certainly have nothing to complain about, as I contemplate retirement, I see that there are much more important things than money.

I believe strongly that the earth will be restored to God’s intended state, and that no inhabitant will have to fear poverty. If I had the nice little place i dream of in the countryside, somewhere in eastern Colorado, and didn’t have to sweat the economic hassles of our day, what would it take to make me feel rich? First off, of course, would be the approval of my Maker, being close to family and friends, and very much, I would want animals.

Whether an animal can feel love, is a topic of some dispute, but when I see animals run to greet a human they know; well, I’m seeing something special. I remember, some years back, when my cat meowed at me as I was getting ready to leave for work. It literally brought tears to my eyes, because this precision little living creature wanted me to know that she was thinking of me. It was a small gesture, but I was honored that I was important enough in her feline world for her to take notice of my activities. BTW, when I came home from work, every night, she would greet me with excited meows.

When all is restored, we will be at absolute peace with the animal world and I expect that we will experience just how amazing animals are. We get glimpses, in videos like this. I love the I_Am_Puma channel on YouTube, about a man who fell in love with, and bought an 8 month old Cougar cub and taken him in as a house pet. This member of a wild species has never shown any aggression towards the humans in his life, even though a cat this size could easily overpower a human.

In the final state, when all is restored, I believe that animals will add nothing but delight to our lives. We can see a glimpse of this already with domestic animals, and in examples such as the video above. Imagine how wonderful it will be to be at peace with all animals, and neither humans or animals will ever have any reason to fear one another.

In the meantime, there is a Siamese curled up next to me on my chair, and she is a source of much joy.

    1. You and I both know that animals do indeed experience love, giving and receiving it. I sure could use some of that just now.
