Does Your Cat Try to Talk?

Here’s a cat who seems to be giving his owner word for word–with some purring thrown in. Our cat Buster used to get pretty chatty. We talk to our pets all the time. Are they imitating us?

  1. It’s funny how cats will get vocal at times. They obvious have something they want to express, but who knows what it is?

    A few days ago, my cat suddenly became very vociferous, looking me in the eye and meowing in a variety of ways. I have no idea of what she wanted, but it was obviously something important.

  2. Yes, cats do that. One of my Siamese was attacked by a neighbor’s dog and she came in and jumped on my lap crying MAMA several times, so I got up and followed her to the back door
    where I saw the dog outside waiting to attack again. She got the other cat to go with her and between the two, they whipped the daylights out of the dog and sent him yipping for home.
