I’m Under Orders to Rest

Introducing.. Charles R. Knight: Bringing Dinosaurs to Life ...

Charles R. Knight’s Brontosaurs. Hey, fellas!  Any room in that swamp for me?

Yesterday was Hell Day. It ended with my catheter threatening to fall apart just at bedtime! I taped it back together, back onto my leg. This should not be, and yet it is.

I am under orders today from my wife and from my editor to do damnitall nothing–repeat, nothing–unless it’s something I really want to do. I am cleared to sit outside in the sun and enjoy a cigar. Frankly, I can use it.

I’d like to crank out a couple of blog posts, too.

We are just short of resolving, at all costs, not to see any doctors today. Somebody has to fix my catheter. I’d like to to be someone who knows how to do it.

  1. I’m having an awful struggle to stay up and keep going. I did my Scripture reading as soon
as I could get my head on straight (somewhat), then I thought of this Carroll Roberson song that I havent heard for a long time, so In case you want a song to post: An Evening Prayer is it.

  2. I know what a struggle it can be — When you try to rest, you become more aware of what hurts and what isn’t working right, but trying to do things distracts you for a while but exacerbates the conditions. I’m going through something similar myself, except on a much less intense level than yours. I keep wanting to just lie around and rest, but things have to get done, and when I try to rest I fret about things not getting done and I’m more conscious of the physical pain and the light-headedness and nausea. Getting old is not for wimps … right, Erlene?

Oh well, I’ve got plenty to offer up in prayer, which I do for everyone here, especially Lee, Patty, and Erlene. We hold each other up in prayer while Our Lord holds all of us up in His love.
