‘What’s Missing from the Easter Message?’ (2012)

Green Plants Stock Photos, Images and Backgrounds for Free ...

“Green” and “green-ness”… that’s what Easter’s all about?

An “Easter Message” from the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church, 2012… minus Jesus Christ. Looks like the bishop’s Easter train left without Him.

What’s Missing from the Easter Message?

Most of the, um, “message” is about the United Nations Millenium Development Goals. No one talks about those anymore.

Anyway, this is the oldest Easter post on my blog. We can’t take our sacred holidays for granted, people. You can see what happens when we do: that bishop just showed us.

  1. I don’t know which is more dangerous — the trivialization of Easter (viz. bunnies) or its politicization. Maybe the bunnies, because people may disagree with the politics and reject the whole slant of the message, but who can disagree with the cuteness of bunnies?

    1. As I see it, God gave us bunnies–they wouldn’t be the only gifts of God that people misuse. I love bunnies, but not as totems.
