Do they get a trial?
Flak aimed at the Aalborg Zoo has been incoming from all over the world, thanks to the zoo’s request for “unwanted pets” to be used as food for predators (https://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/this-zoo-wants-your-guinea-pig-as-food-for-its-predators/euy3qd03w).
Don’t fret! They’ll take healthy animals and euthanize them before giving them to Jaws–chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs… and even a horse, if there’s nothing wrong with it.
This is creeping people out, world-wide. It scrapes against deep emotions. Due to my health, I find myself without a pet for the first time since I was five years old or so–and I feel it. How I miss our cats! And my iguana, and our turtle, and so many others. Life doesn’t feel right without our pets.
And these gavones want to throw them to the wolves?
Not on your life, bozo.
Unbelievable! When you take on a pet, you are making an agreement, and the pet is trusting you. What a horrid way to violate that trust. Life is precious, and our attitude towards the preciousness of life reveals a lot about our character.
It’s not too late to repent and give up this behavior. And if you do, you’ll be glad you did.
Honestly, the thought of someone betraying a pet in this way sickens me.
Yeah, I really had to give my pet away. No longer could I keep it. My pet rock I gave to a cement company. They tossed it into the cement truck as I watched, and I almost cried when the wet cement was poured out for the new street. Of course, I know where he is buried, and think about him every time I drive over him.
Seriously, I side with unknowable on this issue. I love the dog a family abandoned when they moved, and just left her to fend for herself. She is now my faithful friend. When she was sick, I took her to the vet and paid for her care. I couldn’t abandon her.
Our pets are a blessing from God and should be treated accordingly.
