Under the Bed (It’s Me)

What's Hiding Under Your Bed? – The Invisible Man

I’m making a prayer request for myself this morning. Because I think I need as many of them as I can get. Please feel free to hop on board! We’ve got lots and lots of room. And we welcome prayer requests from anybody and about anybody.

My own morale/spiritual  strength is shriveling in the sun: I can’t keep track of all the medical interventions they say I’ll require. Looks like everybody’s going to get a nice new hip replacement… except me.

Oh, for some high-quality sleep!

  1. Prayers continue.

One piece of advice; when you are bouncing between physicians, keep track of them by specialty and take notes of everything they tell you. Then, keep those notes with you when visiting any other physicians involved in your care. There should be back channel communications going on, but it never hurts to have information at hand and to ask questions.

    1. I have a relative on Medicaid. He is unable to work, due to work related injuries, so he is bounced from doctor to doctor, dealing with various health problems. One of the things I have suggested to him is to become familiar with the specialists he is dealing with, learning what these specialties mean, instead of just saying “the back guy” or whatever. My whole point is that in the era of such specialization, there is not necessarily anyone plotting the overall course of treatment, and it’s easy to fall through the cracks.

I’ve learned to keep track of lab results and to ask questions when there is something I don’t understand. This can only improve the results.

  2. Lee, I am praying for the strength of the Lord for all of us, especially for you and Patty during these difficult times.

  3. Brother Lee, I pray for you and Patty each day. For rest, for peace, for healing, strength to go on, and a greater faith in our Lord. Strength for Patty, she is also going through this trial of great grief and tribulation. May the Lord pour out His mercy, compassion, and rest upon both of you.

Here is a song I have grown to love. May the words remind you, of who controls all things, answers prayer, and truly loves you and Patty. You can find this song on YouTube.

    Still
Hide me now under Your wings
Cover me within Your mighty hand
When the oceans rise and thunder roars
I will soar with you above the storm
Father, You are King over the flood
I will be still, know You are God

Find rest my soul In Christ alone
Know His power In quietness and trust
When the oceans rise and thunder roars
I will soar with you above the storm
Father, You are King over the flood
I will be still, know You are God

Find rest my soul In Christ alone
Know His power In quietness and trust
When the oceans rise and thunder roars
I will soar with you above the storm
Father, You are King over the flood
I will be still, know You are God
