This morning when I woke up I decided to not assign myself any tasks or projects. I felt like having an idle day. No jobs to do, therefore no disappointment when they weren’t done. It turned out to be a good idea.
A new year is starting, but it is very different for me this year. My whole life has changed-radically- and it is not the same as any other year. I never was one to make resolutions, but this year will be different in that department, too. I must get more exercise- (and of course Nature really cooperated today with blazing cold and high winds). There are a whole bunch of things to be done, but I have gotten a good jump on the tax stuff for the accountant. Being a bookkeeper for a lifetime helped with that.
I could go on, but it is pretty boring stuff.
Now they are also talking about this supposedly horrendous flu epidemic. I have become so cynical about that sort of thing since the COVID business, I don’t know what to believe. Not the government agencies, that’s for sure.
Just stay safe and warm
God bless everybody.

Happy New Year, Patty! My sister in-law outlived my brother by 12 years. We don’t know what the future holds, but we do know Who holds it and that is why we place our faith in Him.
Amen to that!
Taking New Year’s Day as a leisure day was a good idea for me, too. I’ve been having health issues for most of last year that gained momentum against me for awhile. I’ve been standing up to it first, through prayer, and then by doing my own health research. I eventually dropped all prescription drugs and most OTC. I changed my diet and my thinking about mainstream healthcare. I learned to interpret blood tests and now my doctor is only my occasional advisor. My blood tests have normalized which, oddly, led my doctor into ordering more tests several times. I know everyone has their own individual circumstances, but this approach has been great for me at this time in my life. I still have some health challenges. I pray that this new year of 2026 will increase the joy of serving Jesus Christ into everyone’s life!
Thank you so much, Michele. I’m glad you have gotten a handle on any health issues. I also am a big believer on diet as a major influence on health. It’s great that your tests have normalized, too. Lets hope that Christ will look after all of us in the new year.
We do need a day off, now and then. I, personally, took a 100 mile shopping junket, and got some supplies I needed, but was unable to find nearby. It was an active, but low stress morning. I intended to get some serious exercise today, but after I donned my winter biking apparel, I looked out the window and realized that it had started just like it hardly ever does, here on the desert. I finally squeezed in a short ride, between the raindrops, so to speak, and and least got the blood flowing.
Take life a day at a time, and set reasonable small goals for yourself, which are attainable, and get the necessities out of the way, but balance this with adequate rest. This has been a time of change, and it takes time to adapt.
I will try.
