I Finally Got Out!

Well today felt like I was let out of Alcatraz.  I got out relatively early, did a couple of errands and squeezed in a small walk this afternoon.

When I was in the convenience store, we were talking about the weather.  The owner was remarking on how cold it was.  I was born within a few miles of where I live now and have lived in this area all my life.  This is truly the coldest winter I ever have experienced.  We have had years with more snow, and we also had years with severe (0-6) cold temperatures at night, but never for such a long period of time.  I heard a Ranger one time talking about how the bears love New Jersey because of the mild winters (they don’t have to hibernate here).

I just could not help bombarding you with sloths today–I was in “sloth mode”.  Another critter I would love to hold in my arms for a bit, especially one of the babies.

I hope everyone had a good day.

Stay warm.

God bless everybody.

  1. Good going. Looking at your 10 day forecast, it looks like it might cool slightly for the weekend, but by Monday, things should at least remain above freezing.

As for the beautiful desert, it was fairly warm, but very cloudy, all day. It would have been ok, but the wind was a bit too much.

    1. It’s the most likely limiting factor to my riding. I can dress for cool temperatures and be OK, but wind adds a while ‘nother layer and can make an otherwise pleasant day miserable.

    2. The time has come, and it is now time to face the great outdoors and take my bike ride. Fortunately, the wind has calmed since yesterday and is only at 8 MPH.
