Today is Good Friday

Every Good Friday, Lee and I would watch one of our religious or Bible movies in the afternoon.  I can’t  do it this year–it would be too much for me to handle.  As it was, when I went to get my prescription at Walgreens yesterday, I avoided the candy aisle–I used to buy Lee a ton of candy for his Easter basket.  The check out clerk would always marvel when I told them all that candy was for my husband.  He loved his Peeps, and all the other goodies.

I must remember that today, as painful as it is, leads to Easter Sunday and the Resurrection.  That is where the real hope lies.

I will see you all tomorrow.

God bless everybody.

  1. … and that is the key. Our HOPE is secure, because Jesus already paid for it. The opposer is working overtime to try to convince us otherwise, but we have a secure hope, and God will not fail to deliver. From as far back as Genesis 3:15, it was told to us that deliverance will come, and the iniquities of life in this fallen world would be healed or reversed.

This time of year, I always take note of this. Last night, I got together with friends for mutual encouragement regarding this very subject, that we have:

5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
    Ephesians 4:5-6
    English Standard Version

This is the most hopeful time of the entire year.

    Hang in, it gets better.

    1. The condition of the human race changes from time to time, and there have been some wonderful innovations, but overall, we still face the same ultimate enemies and evil is still a major force. The only solid hope is the hope God provides, through His son, Christ Jesus.
