Really Busy Day Today

Today I had a few errands to run.

The new government of this borough has really succeeded in making the traffic here unbearable.  It’s a small town with far too many cars.  They just keep packing people in. Lee had run into the new mayor a few years ago, and he (the mayor) was thrilled that the town was packed .  He said “On Sunday you could have rolled a bowling ball down Main Street”  to which Lee replied  “That’s the way we liked it.”  My honey sure was no diplomat.

I only needed to go to the bank, Whole Foods, and the Post Office.

It took me forever.

It also got blazingly hot here–very unseasonable.  They said it was 85, but it felt a lot hotter.  And of course, as soon as you leave the car to go into someplace, the car heats right up again.

I did put up that interview with Rudy Giuliani because I really like him.  He was  a  marvelous mayor, who loves that town and his lungs  are now very compromised because of all the time he spent at Ground Zero.

I remember another incident about that time.  A group of political figures were assembled somewhere in New York.  Everyone was in shock over the attack, and Ed Koch was in tears.  Hillary Clinton actually said  “Ed, why are you crying?”   Democrat or not, Ed Koch loved New York City.  And Hillary showed what a dunderhead she was.

It is now time for me to start my supper and go back to watching ER which I had never seen before.

See you tomorrow.

God bless everybody.

  1. So many places have become crowded, because of poor planning. For years, Tucson eschewed growth, leading to inadequate roads, in many areas. They are inching their way through widening s major thoroughfare that should hav been widened 40 years ago. I like what peace and quiet I can find.

As to weather, it was cool here, by Arizona standards. We’ve usually had triple digit temperatures by the end of April, but I actually wore a jacket today.

    1. It’s been fairly cool, so far this year. I was up in the city this morning and it felt moderately hot in the sun, but just two days ago, I was wearing a jacket. Usually, by now, the A/C is running a lot of the time.

    2. It has been. It wasn’t a cold winter, by any means, but cooler weather started early and has continued into May. Usually, by now, we have highs 20 degrees hotter than today.
