It was a typical spring day here in New Jersey. Overcast, rainy and not too warm.
Had to nip out to the store, but other than that I spent a very quiet day, going over a lot of Lee’s posts, deciding what to select. Many memories there–some good and some not so good. But most of the not so good ones were very funny. Gallows humor and hyperbole were two of his strong points.
There’s still a ton of stuff to be taken care of here, but there is no rush.
Apropos of nothing, I have been having a real yearning for stuffed cabbage. It’s a bit of work to make, but I think I will do it anyway. Maybe tomorrow or the next day.
I got another doctor bill for Lee today, and when I went online to pay it, the system wouldn’t let me. When I called their information number, I was told to just write a check. So much for their lah-di-dah, cutting-edge, automated billing system.
Well, that about covers it for today.

Strangely cool here. It’s not impossible that my furnace will turn itself on tonight. 55 degrees and dropping fast. This is the coldest spring I’ve ever seen here.
Lee’s gallows humor was top notch, and much appreciated. Some of his satire was so elaborate as to be believable.
No cabbage here, but I am planning to have Huevos Rancheros tomorrow, which is as good as it gets for this wrangler.
Sounds good to me.
And it was good. If I were rich enough, I’d buy those Huevos Rancheros nearly every day.
I have a few food indulgences that I can only afford occasionally, too.
Huevos rancheros is almost always worth the price.
