Today I got a really shocking message from my friend in Florida.
You know how you can sort of know someone because a friend of yours talks about them? You feel like you know them, personally, even though you have never met them. Well my friend in Florida has a neighbor who has a long time buddy staying at his house while he’s home in New York. These guys go back to Junior High as really close friends. I feel almost as if I know this man because my friend talks about him all the time. A nice guy who has helped them with their gardening and home repair stuff. Let’s call him Joe.
Last night Joe was shot three times at the local MacDonald’s drive -through. There is some confusion (a lot of confusion) about the circumstances. Right now the police are calling it a “road rage” incident. We know that Joe does not carry a gun. The bottom line is that this man, once of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet is now in critical condition and may lose his arm. There is no way this guy could ever be a threat to anyone. Shot three times? “Road rage” at a MacDonald’s drive through? That sounds like attempted murder to me, rather than self defense.
As I say there is a lot of confusion right now.
What ever in the world is happening to our society?
I am in an absolute state of shock.
That is about it for today.
Have a good night, all.
God bless everybody.

Patty – We are living in a lawless country now. Out here where I live ( WA state), last weekend a young 17-year-old man was walking out in their neighborhood with his girl-friend, when a car pulled up beside him. He went over to talk (they had called him over to the car), when one of the car’s occupants pulled out a gun and demanded the young man give him the necklace he was wearing around his neck. (This youngster plays football and other sports, so this was not a girlish necklace). When the young teen handed over the necklace, the guy in the car shot him, and murdered him, and then the car sped off.
Just for a NECKLACE, it’s “fun” to murder???!!! (I’m so tired of this kind of murder always being called “killing” these day in the Press and elsewhere, almost as if murder never happens anymore in the US.)! An innocent young man with his life ahead of him, murdered to obtain a necklace, gone.
So a shooting at a drive-through at an innocent person is getting horribly more “common” in America, to our great national decline and disgrace that we have allowed this to happen.
This was an incredible shock. Truly frightening.
What a tragedy! Prayers sent. This world is falling apart.
It was a shock to hear.
I can only imagine.
