Passenger partially sucked out of airplane over Greece

This is an interesting description of what took place on a plane flying to Greece.  It is rather long, but worth a watch. The passenger is alive and will make a full recovery thanks to the quick response of his wife and others.

  1. I enjoy the videos made by Captain Steeeve (SIC). This was pretty bad, but at least had a positive outcome. My first reaction when I saw the title of the video was the same as that of Captain Steeeve, wear your seatbelt when on an airliner, at all times. I’ve spent some time on airliners and have a method to determine which passengers are the smartest, and it’s very simple; the smart ones keep their lap belts on. 🙂 When I fly, I deliberately avoid drinking water for several hours before getting on the plane, so I don’t have to make that trek to the lav’.

This was a one in a million shot, and not anything common. I recall the other example Steeeve mentioned, which was amazing. The people present were shocked that the pilot survived; they fully expected that he would not have survived the ordeal. Airliner windshields are very thick and very robust, held in place by many bolts. Whatever broke the windshield on that BAC 111 had to have been pretty formidable.
